If I'm going to be honest about Batwoman Elegy, I wasn't really a fan. Man, am I glad I waited all this time to read this. To put the matter of this review succinctly, Batwoman: Elegy rocks. Batwoman: Elegy fits nicely into the Batman universe, while being a piece that stands firmly on its own merits. Upon starting it when the new 52 began, Batwoman quickly became one of my favorite titles. Reviewing Comics: Batwoman Elegy. I've always enjoyed Greg Rucka's work, but for some reason I fell behind. Williams III Collects Detective Comics #854-860. If I'm going to be brutally honest, I didn't like it. I must admit, however, that it was the fact that Rachel Maddow wrote the introduction to the first Batwoman collection, Elegy, that really piqued my interest and helped me notice the title in the first place. BATWOMAN: ELEGY (DC) Written by Greg Rucka, drawn by J.H. Not only did it follow a very compelling and layered character that I was new to, it has some of the best art that I've ever seen. The writing was mediocre at best, the artwork breathtaking – yet distracting.
